Writing is Good Therapy

Writing about your own thoughts is good therapy. If you want to build self-esteem when you feel down or depressed, write something positive that has happened in your life. It may have been some experience recently or some time ago but it will be a boost to your self-confidence. It is especially helpful if you are dealing with a serious illness.

One good thought could lead to others and make you realize you are worth the time to write about yourself for others. You may have a story of some good deed you did for others or a special event you enjoyed. Anything that gets you writing can be valuable.

On the other hand , if you are depressed, getting your feelings out there, can do wonders to lift your spirits. You can be your own therapist and start another day on a brighter note.

Take your thoughts now and get them on paper. You’ll be glad you did.

“The best way to cheer yourself is to cheer someone else up.” Mark Twain

A Most Useful Tool For Recording Someone

If you have ever tried to talk to a family member about a memory, you will know how difficult it is to remember details . It is also hard to write it all down. An indispensable tool for keeping a record is a digital recorder. I also use a microphone with it for an older person with a weaker voice. There are some good ones around $60.00 by Sony and Olympus.

What I like about them is the way they can be put into the computer I’m using and I can write up the story constantly referring to the recording we made. Afterwards, I can make an audio CD for the person and his family. It becomes a treasure to keep.

It’s great. Try it!

Happy New year!
